Trinidad ... Colorado Border Panel

This amazing tin ceiling border panel piece is steeped in Wild West history.  Rescued at the last minute from an old saloon in Trinidad, Colorado, it is a spectacular example of tin ceilings!  Trinidad, CO, was on the Santa Fe Trail and at one time it's Marshall was Bat Masterson of Wild West fame.

Featuring stylized fleur-de-lis, palm flourishes and what I refer to as cartouches.  It's a deep relief piece, which leads me to believe it dates from the 1880s.  It has much of its original paint that I have kept and worked on top of to give it a true vintage feeling and plenty of texture.

I have glazed this in medium charcoal, deep charcoal, slate grey and metallic tones of pale blue and rosmary gold.  It also has some touches of silver as well.  An overall tone of eeep charcoal was added to enhance the deep relief of the design.  This piece measures 48 inches by 24 inches and weighs almost 131 lbs.  It will come complete with hanging hardware.  This would made a remarkable headboard!
