"Magnolia Grandiflora" is a wonderful project to paint. This beautiful flower project features Linda's "sculpting" techniques that will help you learn how to paint realistic flowers.
This project is first painted in Coulter Grisaille (acrylic), then overglazed with pure color glazes and semi-glazes, followed by opaque color accents. The colors can easily be applied using wOils (water mixable oil colors), or regular oil colors. For beginner or intermediate paintwers. Intermediate to advanced acrylic painters may wish to use acrylic color glazes. Linda used wOils, but discusses the alternatives of oil colors or acyrylic colors during the DVDs.
You will receive the set of DVDs. This project is filmed from start to finish so you can watch every brush stroke, every brush load of paint from the palette. Linda explains what she's doing, at each step along the way, and also WHY she's doing it. This is a very educational set of art instruction DVDs.
You will also receive an instruction packet that includes: Supply List, Surface Priming Instructions (with sample card), Written Instructions for painting the flower, leaves and background, Reference Photos, Traceable Pattern in 3 different sizes, Grayscale Sculpting Chart, and Color Mixing Instructions, all presented as PDF files on a CD.
